Our Response to COVID-19

As many of you are aware, the current global pandemic (COVID-19) has increasingly been spreading worldwide for the past few months, and with its spread, our government’s preventative measures to slow down its spread has had an unexpected effect on the way we gather as a society. Most recently, the State of California has issued a state-wide stay-at-home order, ordering its residents to stay home except for essential activities, of which do not include church-social gatherings. Orange County has also banned all gatherings, private and public outside of a single household. Updates to these orders continue to change.

Irvine Christian Students has taken a stand to cooperate with all efforts to stop the spread of this virus by following all government and health official recommendations and mandates. In accordance with UCI's move to remote classes and meetings and the Orange County Health Order, all club-related, in-person gatherings for this upcoming Spring Quarter have been canceled. This includes our Wednesday Corporate Bible Study, Thursday Night Truth Series, Sunday Fellowship, and our small-group home gatherings in the community.

We want to assure you all that although we are doing everything we can to cooperate with authorities to stop the spread of this virus, our priority is still the Lord’s interest and the spiritual well-being of our students. Having said so, Irvine Christian Students is continuing all of our weekly club activities through web-based video conferencing! We will continue to host the Wednesday Bible Study and Sunday Fellowship every week via Zoom. More information about our events can be found on our website, Instagram, and Facebook. We will also be publishing blogs and videos of these activities on our website to encourage everyone to stand firm in the Lord and press on together in the midst of this unprecedented situation. Be sure to check out our video page for current content as we will have an extended archive of previous material available.

We love you all and we hope many of you could join us in prayer for our new transition to virtual meetings, for our country as a whole, and for many to turn to Christ in these times! For more information about the current COVID-19 situation, visit the CDC website and monitor any updates from the University of California, Irvine.
